Homophobia In California

I am a proud straight guy that loves a beautiful woman more then anything else. This does not stop me from being politically correct when it comes to the poor down trodden people of California whose own government is so insensitive that they not only condone but require state workers to be politically incorrect when it comes to those who are gay. The liberal and open mindedness of the establishment seems not to care that they openly degrade those who are a minority in their state.

Saturday while I was heading from the Great State of Oregon to see the giant redwoods of the so-so state of California we were stopped at the border. I have been stopped at the border many times and asked a short series of questions but this time it was a little different. This time I realized that the main question itself was so close minded and Homophobic that even I, a heartless right wing radical, was shocked.

We slowed down at the border and a man in a uniform that seemed himself to be slightly left of heterosexual signaled for us to roll down the window. I mentioned earlier that they ask  about a few items in your car but this time they only asked one. My assumption is that the sheer shock on my face kept the officer from going further with the standard questions.

As the officer walked up to the window he asked "Do you have any fruits in the car". My mouth dropped open and I thought about telling him "No, we are all straight". I then realized that California evidently thinks that it is ok to be homophobic and not only are they using divisive language but they are also trying to keep the state free of those who are gay. When you leave the state they seem not to care if you are straight or gay but when you enter they have no problem trying to keep some people out.

Next time when Barbara or Nancy stand up in DC and talk about the left coast being open minded unlike the bigoted fly over county I will think about the institutionalized bigotry of the so-so state if California.

  8. Hey Rebeka,

I'm glad that you find Michael so attractive but you can stop now. He is involved hun. Not that I mind you finding my man desirable, it's just getting a bit weird now.

  10. Bek.... I really do appreciate that you find me attractive but the simple fact is I have NO interest in you. I do not even remember meeting you in real life like you claim which tells me how important you are to me.

I hate being so blunt but I am sick of being stalked by people. You have not been a big problem but you do pop up every now and then and make strange statements. Flirting I can take and can be flattering but you seem to cross that line a little to often.

I agree with ESG "it's just getting a bit weird now."

  11. I don't understand why liking a gay means being open minded, duh.

plus that word homophobic sucks, heterophobic is more actual for these days.

  12. I do agree.... I only have had one person who either commented or posted on FB a real negative comment. It was from an openly gay man who thought that I was flat out wrong for making fun of being PC.

He did complain though that blogs like this is why we have a black man as president. He just did not seem to get the hint that being racist is worse then being non PC. I asked him about it and he just ignored the racist comment he made and attacked me for being juvenile about laughing at his protection of political correctness.

  13. this is pointless

  14. It is pointless, I think that is the point. When people get upset because a person uses a real word in a real situation but are told that they are racist, sexist etc because some group uses the same word in a derogatory way then you cannot make a point with them. Remember when the term niggardly was used and the offical was told he was racist because some uneducated people would think it was racist?

The political correctness only seems to go one way. If it is a real word with real meaning then we should use it even if some idiot does not understand the word. If the right cannot use terms that the left find offensive then nobody should be able to use it.

It is pointless to argue with ideologues who refuse to use their brains and that is the point :)

  15. It takes an above average intelligence to make any kind of a point (but particularly a political one) with humor. Leave it my cousin to do so and to do it quite exceptionally, proud of you cuz.
